It is still an archived show but it will be out once a week now, on Mondays for now unless I change it and make it a live show or need to do an additional show that week. So I'm now on weekly to entertain your brain and make you think about what truth is and is not! In a fight for life and a fight for pure survival of the family as a whole after moving into a place closer to the cancer treatment center that they didn't know was once a funeral home. It got rough and it's one of John Zaffis's most talked about cases. Hear "Karen Parker" (Carmen Reed in real life) tell it like it happened. The documentary can be seen on the Discovery Channel and TLC. It can also ve viewed on YouTube or streamed from there on our own website here: http://ghostmind.net/GM_Videos_HauntingInConnecticut.html

If someone had not uploaded it to YouTube then I would have never gotten to see it. If you're working on the skull, you'll need to draw an additional line of orange around the skull and then spread it outward with the paper towel and Goo Be Gone. Let dry.

4. After the paint has dried, add eyes, nose, teeth, hair, and scar with the different colored paint markers. Remove any mistakes or unwanted marks by squeezing Goo Be Gone onto the end of a cotton swab and then wiping away the problem spot (use paper towel for larger areas). Once you're pleased with your design, outline the features with the black paint marker.

5. To insert the bolts in the monster's neck, prepoke a hole on each side of his neck with scissors. Thread a washer onto the bolt and push it through the hole. Reaching inside the jug, screw a nut onto the end of the bolt. Use the cat ear, collar, and bow tie patterns to cut pieces from foam. Slip the collar under the washers and glue the bow tie to the center of the collar. Glue the cat ears in place.

6. To thread the whiskers onto the cat, prepoke two holes on each side of the nose with a needle and poke the wire into a hole on one side of the nose and out the hole on the other side. Repeat the process with the second wire. Use pliers to make curls on ends of the wires.

7. If using candles to light the luminarias, pour 2 to 3 inches of sand in the bottom of each jug. Place a candle in the center.

Note: Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Creature Cutouts From Better Homes and Gardens

Creature Cutouts

What You Need:

Tracing paper

Pencil

Scissors

Pumpkin, scooped out with lid out

Paring knife

Sticks and twigs

26-gauge orange or black wire

Wire cutters

Pumpkin-carving tools

Glass beads

Instructions:

1. Download the free patterns for this project. (Downloading requires Adobe Acrobat.)
Bat: http://img.att.net/cobrand/bellsouth/img/meredith/pumpkinbat.pdf

Cat: http://img.att.net/cobrand/bellsouth/img/meredith/pumpkincat.pdf

Owl: http://img.att.net/cobrand/bellsouth/img/meredith/pumpkinowl.pdf

2. To make any of the designs, trace the desired pattern. Cut out the pattern. Trace around the pattern on the pumpkin. Cut out the shape.

3. For the cat, make a broom by grouping a bunch of twigs around one end of a stick. Bind them in place by tightly winding wire six times around the twigs. Twist the wire ends together and trim the extra wire. To attach the broom, first poke a vertical pair of holes under each of the front cat paws. Hold the broom under the paws with one hand. With the other hand, secure it in place by threading a 3-inch length of wire out one hole, over the broom handle, and back in through the second hole. Twist the wire ends together inside the pumpkin. Repeat the process with the second pair of holes. Cut a 4-inch length of wire for the face. Thread a orange or black nose bead onto the center of the wire. Bend both wire ends up from the nose and then thread matching eye beads onto either side. If necessary, bend the wire to secure the eye beads in place. Poke the wire ends into the pumpkin flesh on either side of the cat's head.

4. To make the owl, poke a vertical pair of holes under both owl wings. Follow the directions for attaching the cat's broom to attach the owl's branch. Cut two 2-inch lengths of wire. Thread an eye bead onto the center of each wire. Bend the wire above and below the bead to hold it in place. Poke the wire ends into the pumpkin flesh at the top and bottom of eye sockets.

5. To make the bat, poke a pair of vertical holes above the bat's feet. Follow the directions for attaching the cat's broom to attach the branch above the bat's feet. With small beads and wire, make the bat's face as done for the cat's face.

Better Homes And Gardens Goo-lish Caramel Apple Slices

Goo-lish Caramel Apple Slices

Ingredients:

1 cup semisweet chocolate pieces (6 ounces)
1/4 cup nut topping
1 14-ounce bag vanilla caramels (about 48)
3 apples, cored, peeled, and sliced
1 tablespoon shortening
3 tablespoons water

Nutritional Information:

fiber: 3g, protein: 5g, total fat: 20g, cholesterol: 0mg, sodium: 223mg, calories: 487, carbohydrate: 80g, saturated fat: 5g.

Steps:

1. In a medium mixing bowl combine pumpkin seeds, cooking oil, and salt. Spread mixture onto a waxed-paper-lined 15x10x1-inch baking pan. Let stand for 24 to 48 hours or till dry, stirring occasionally.
3. Remove waxed paper from baking pan. Toast seed in a 325 degree F oven for 35 to 40 minutes, stirring once or twice. Let cool slightly. Pat seeds with paper towels to remove excess oil.
4. Package 1/4 cup of the seeds in each bag or place seeds in the center of cellophane wrap, then bring up edges. Tie closed with the ribbon. Makes 16 (1/4 cup) servings.
Tip: Use this crunchy snack for prizes in a pumpkin race. Divide the kids into two groups. They can color small paper bags, then staple on orange or black strips of construction paper for easy-carrying handles.

Use Indian Corn for prizes.

Create a spooky sight by filling jack-o'-lanterns with dry ice and a little water -- vapor will float out of the jack-o'-lantern. Be sure that the room where you are using the dry ice is well ventilated, and protect your hands by wearing heavy gloves.

The Legend of the Jack O'Lantern

The Legend of the Jack O'Lantern

http://home.bellsouth.net/s/editorial.dll?eetype=Article&eeid=5455947&render=y&ck=&Table=&_lid=332&_lnm=todays+guide+onnet+jackolantern+tglink&ck=

Published: 10/17/07, 4:32 PM EDT

The true origin of the jack-o'-lantern is forever lost in the mists of time. All we have are stories and legends handed down over the years - undoubtably embellished and exagerrated with each successive generation. The most colorful (and maybe true?) account of the first jack-o'-lantern is found in an old Irish folk tale.

The central figure, Jack, of course, is a lazy but very shrewd character who uses a cross to trap the Devil. In one story, Jack tricks the Devil into climbing an apple tree. Once the Devil is in the tree, Jack quickly places crosses around the trunk (one version tells of Jack carving a cross into the bark) so the Devil couldn't get down.

Another tale describes Jack being chased by villagers that he had stolen from. He encounters the Devil in his escape, who tells Jack it is time for him to die and go to Hell for his wicked ways. However, Jack stalls his death by tempting the Devil. He proposes that the Devil turn himself into a coin (as the Devil could turn himself into any form he wanted) with which Jack would pay for the stolen goods. Then, when the coin/Devil disappeared, the Christian villagers would fight over who had stolen it. The Devil agreed to the plan, turned himself into a silver coin and jumped into Jack's wallet, only to find himself next to a small cross Jack had hidden there. Jack closed the wallet and the cross stripped the Devil of his powers, thus trapping him.

In both of these tales, Jack only lets the Devil go when he agrees to never take his soul. Time passed in Jack's life and he finally died. Since his life had been too sinful for him to go to Heaven and seeing as the Devil promised not to take his soul, he was also barred from Hell.

Encountering the Devil once again, Jack lamented that he had nowhere to go and no light to guide him. The Devil mockingly tossed him an ember from the flames of Hell that would never burn out. Jack carved out a turnip, his favorite food, placed the ember inside and began endlessly wandering the Earth looking for a resting place. He became known as "Jack of the Lantern," or "Jack-o'-Lantern."

Carving Your Own Jack O'LanternThe Halloween tradition of carving pumpkins has come a long way from the early days of a simple crooked-toothed grin. Today, some of the creations seen illuminating porches on Halloween night are truly artistic. From ghoulish leers to cartoon caricatures and even political candidates, the jack o'lanterns of today seem to know no limits.
If you want to learn more about the basics of carving pumpkins, check out Pumpkin Carving 101. Welcome Phantom Fest!

http://www.heritageparanormalsociety.com/

We are fifteen minutes into the Day Before South Carolina Paranormal History is to be made! The above link will take you to the group where you will find co-founder Heidi Brumbelow and Heriatage Paranormal Society who are bringing in the very first mass paranormal convention and integrated investigation into the small town of Abbeville, South Carolina on October 19th, 2007 and ending on October 21st, 2007. Two nights of history, preservation, investigation and promotion of historical sites all in one weekend. No event in South Carolina has ever compared to Phantom Fest. Abbeville is to South Carolina as Savanna is to Georgia. It is our most haunted town, only outranked by Charleston and even in Charleston, nothing like Phantom Fest exists.

Abbeville has been a long standing testimony to history and is still today. It just has not received the attention it deserves as one of our most haunted sites in the United States and it's only about an hour and a half from our little group here in Upstate, SC. It has waited long for support and the attention it deserves and Heritage Paranormal are the ones to thank for this huge milestone for the town and the state! Solely they have made it their own and invited others from around the paranormal globe to spread knowledge not only on the paranormal field but on history and help the town work toward education on preseveration along with donations for the historical sites to do what they are telling others to do. Help preserve history!

The link above is very crucial to this first time event because it is the people behind it! The town of Abbeville are welcoming this new event and this is wonderful news to everyone because geneology meets history which meets the world of the paranormal.

Not only metaphysics and parapsychology are needed for a true team investigation. History plays a crucial role as does geneology. If these sites are not preserved then we have no reference to build a future upon. These references also help the general public in case of a frightening experience. When investigators find evidence of a history, this can explain the source of their fears and help eleviate them.

I encourage every group to strive to meet these standards of this wonderful new group of Heritage Paranormal. They are truly an asset to this field and they have already shown what teams should be like and uphold.

I've also seen groups that are taking up cleaning up cemetaries and such to help bring back a good reputation to the paranormal field that a few bad ones took from the many more good ones. Heritage just took a huge leap in that direction. Truly their voices and presentation will be heard throughout the country as an example has already been set. So, South Carolina, get ready for tomorrow! It's a big day for you!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://dragonflyradio.blogspot.com/2007/10/paranormal-history-tomorrow-in-sc.html' title='Paranormal History Tomorrow in SC! Granted, during my time in this field, I have seen the results of these beliefs in front of me in the form of a terrified person, the source of these "feelings" actually have roots in history.

From cutting off the heads of the deceased to "keep the spirit busy looking for their head, thus keeping them away from the living" to closing the eyes of the dead for the same reason, although we do this today in the form of respect, the reasons always revolve of this inherient fear of the spirits of the departed or what we commonly call "ghosts". Interestingly enough, one thing that is an ancient practice on Sahmain (Sow-en), or "All Hallows Eve" which is modernly known as Halloween, the sacred Celtic New Year and Pagan holiday when the dead come back one night a year to visit the living, a huge part of the belief of Sahmain is placing a candle in the window to "guide the dead back home". Empty plates and seats at the dinner table are placed the night of Sahmain to welcome the deceased loved one's spirit back home on this sacred occasion. The belief is that if they make them happy for this one night a year by feeding them that they will leave the living in peace the rest of the year.

The more I study these types of beliefs the more central the objective of what we consider mundane or ordinary practices to the bizzar as doing things to confuse the dead as described above by cutting off the head of the dead to make the spirit busy looking for it center around the wide belif that for some reason the living and the dead do not belong together. These traditions were implemented to do just that, keep the living and dead seperate. This was seen by many as natural. However, shaman and other psychic and spiritualists see things very differently.

Some people that have awakened their psychic gifts, also called "sensitives" today, say that they can see the spirits of the dead and other types of spirits and communicate with them. It's a daily life thing for a psychic to see a "ghost". The main belief among psychics and shaman is that there are multiple dimensions and these dimensions intertwine. They say that we unconsciously communicate with the spirit world all the time and it's a very natural thing. As many as my try, some psychic phenomena just cannot be debunked. From Houdini to the fictional movie "Ghostbusters" to modern day "Ghost Hunters" and "Paranormal Investigators", the psychics or "sensitives" are always put to a harsh test to try to debunk their views and claims. Acceptance of the Unknown and thus the fear of it seems to be a central theme in all these concepts wether it be sharing "space" with spirits to communicating with them. As long as recorded history has existed, so have traditions and beliefs that involve the dead, or more correctly stated, keeping the dead confused, happy, and away from the living in many ways.

It is also a belief that doors, windows, mirrors and such are portals for spirits to enter or leave through. This is akin to the Pagan tradition for Sahmain of placing the candles in the windows. In addition to this, the legend of the Jack-O-Lantern comes into play. In Druidic practices, the Jack-O-Lantern represented the Head of Bran. It was a legend of a man named Bran that the Celts defeated and cut off his head, riding around on their horses with his head on their spears or flagpole as a sign of vistory over threat and prosperity for the Celtic people. The Head of Bran then became a symbol of protection of homes from this tale. This is what is known today as the Jack-O-Lantern. The Pagan belief that on All Hallows Eve, not only did the dead come back, the veil between the world of spirit and the physical world was almost dissipeared for this one night a year. Not only ghosts could and did come to the physical world, so did other "spooks" and "misfortune". Ghouls, goblins, the fairy folk that love to play pranks and other types of unwanted things would threaten their home. People played a part in this belief also, because given human nature, people would take advantage of these beliefs and customs and create their own mischief and danger to others. So, when the Jack-O-Lantern was placed on the doorstep of the home, it protected the home of all misfortune from all these sources or any source on All Hallows Eve. This is only one of many legends of the Jack-O-Lantern.

In other legends the Jack-O-Lantern is a light spawned by a warning spirit and thus considered protection from "the other side". Either way, the Jack-O-Lantern legends coincide with these beliefs and fears of the dead and Unknown.

Some people believed that the dead would return from the way they left, like through the open window as they did when they first died. They would open the window to let the departed back in the way they left and then seal the window to welcome the spirit. Some had special doors built for the dead so their doors they used daily would stay "clean" of spirits and this would mean their doors would stay clean from death itself. Many believed that contact with the dead would bring death to the home. I still find myself acting out some of those beliefs unconsciously in daily life such as the old tale if you hear your name being called and a living person did not speak, if you answer that call then you would die. This is akin to a misconception of a "Banshee".

In many cultures, especially Celtic traditions, a Banshee was a spirit that was not human that would wail or cry out in a manner no one living or dead could ignore or not hear the wail. When the wail was heard by the living, it was a warning that death would soon touch the family of the one or ones that heard the cry of the Banshee. It is described as a shrill scream and never described as sounding human at all in origin. Banshees are from the legends of the "little people", "wee people", or fairy folk. The word Banshee actually means "female fairy" but it somehow became baneful and dreaded and did many legends of the fairy realm. A popular Celtic legend involving the Banshee is they would go from door to door knocking. If you opened the door and didn't look to see if the knock was physical in origin or human in origin, then the Banshee would take you to your death right then or soon after. In this version, the Banshee would have a wheelbarrow to carry off the one that they took to "death". I still catch myself answering when I think someone called my name, finding no one to do so and immediately I think about the legend. I stop for a moment, even though my logic tells me differently. I do this unconsciously. I also always look out the peephole of my door to see who knocks. While this is practicle for safety these days, the reason on my mind at the time is not only safety but I automatically look for someone physical. I have done this before, opening the door without seeing what was knocking, peeping around the door not thinking to find no one there and BOOM, it hits me, that old legend of the Banshee and the wagon or wheelbarrow.

No matter how you feel about spirits or "ghosts", these beliefs are steeped in tradition and fear and we all will catch ourselves in a "protective" act every now and then or in a second thought about what just happened and what legend it's linked to.

Some people actually would make a hole in the wall to take the dead out through and then wall it up again just so the deceased's spirit would not have a way back in because the way through which they came is non-existent! They would also rush the coffin around to confuse the dead so they would not KNOW the way they left to find it again to come back. The grandchildren, if there were any, of the deceased were whisked round the coffin to get the attention of the dead while it was being rushed around, thinking since the grandchildren were most treasured that this would help distract them enough to get them out and the spirit not find their way back in. They also feared the treasured grandchildren were targets for the deceased and because of this love of them that the deceased would come back and take the grandchildren with them.

Even our ways of showing greif and respect for the deas was once used to scare the dead and in turn scaring away the ghost. Firing guns, wailing, ringing bells, and beating on the grave were used to scare the dead away. Another practice still used today is leaving gifts for the dead at the gravesite. This was done historically to "keep the dead happy". Some customs also buried leaders with the dead to which they attatched tubes so they could feed the dead. Nothing worse than a hungry ghost, 'eh? Where have I heard that before?

"Houseleaks", or a plant called "sempervivium" which means "ever living was believed that the dead could not stand to be in its presence. Jimson weed was believed by the Aztecs to protect people and places from the dead. This may have came from the common belief that the dead were jealous of the living for having life that they did not possess. Candles, bonfires and the Jack-O-Lantern all seems to serve the same purpose, to protect the living from the dead in many traditions.

People would leave candles by their bed to protect themselves from ghosts. The french equal armed cross is believed to protect from evil and Cabalists used hexograms to protect from evil and spirits.

Fall Festival Instead of Halloween? HUH? WTF?!

Ok, so I need to GET OUT MORE OFTEN! I was just suprised by a statement on the internet about kids groaning when hearing the new(?) term "Fall Festival" used instead of Halloween! DO WHAT?! I'm completely confused, so I look it up on guess what, the EVIL Internet and I find something that makes me want to throw up my candy before I eat it and get that toothache I planned for this years new plans for a paranormal meltdown! Yup, now how can I have a paranormal meltdown for HALLOWEEN if there are no GHOSTS and it's now a FALL FESTIVAL?!

I usually don't notice the packages my candy comes in either, except for the safety inspections that became necessary when I was small. I look for the goodies inside. Who doesn't? Anyway, I saw something that made me throw my candy corn mixed with candy punkins down, no matter how bad a sweet tooth I had as is natural this time of year! Plop! Right down on the table it went! I huffed like a kid in HELL and swore revenge. Little did I know that my tantrum fit right in with the "New Halloween", Fall Festival "Theme"!

Since Halloween is a religious holiday for me, as I am Wiccan, I have no problem with intertwining the more serious term of Fall Festival because at first glance at the words, they are akin to a harvest feast in my mind. However, to my total horror, I find that this "Fall Festival" is totally a Christian creation and has blasted out all the fun stuff that kids and adults of any religion can enjoy.

Before you blow your lid, listen up! I don't hate Christians (as Wiccans are so wrongly accused of!), as a matter of fact, I have many Christian friends and we have no quarrels with each other! They let me do my thing, and vice versa. And that's it! Presto, we have peace among the little community of diverse religions that touched my personal life. So, what's the problem? Halloween does something that other holidays cannot do. To quote a favorite movie character here if you're asking "What?", then I will say only this, "You have to figure that out for yourself." See, it's an individual thing where anyone can be and do anything they want, within the law and reason of course. How often does everyone, and I mean every single person alive in the festive areas get the opportunity to be creative on this kind of level? How many times are we "allowed" to step how far out of the "social norm" that we want to and let our minds and bodies be free AT THE SAME TIME?! Answer that for me, please! And who the HELL wants to step into a Biblical Character? Do that in church on Sunday, good Christians should if they are to UNDERSTAND their religion! Who wants to get that child-like spirit out that we, as adults, put away the rest of the year and just dress up as what they want to be when they grow up (because they're already frekin grown, you idioit!)? Those are the choices. Take your pick. Oh, please don't forget to stop by Judgement House and get your ass scolded before you go home with those treats. Satan is awaiting for you and he is a nasty trickster, master of Confusion. He may STEAL your candy! Oh, and who the HELL put him in the Judgement Seat anyway? Is this really Biblical?

Just one more question, if I can't celebrate Halloween without looking like the Lone Ranger, and I can't pcik Satan as my "persona", then can I at least be his "Chief Demon"?!

Dragonfly Extreme ~ OUTTA HERE!!!

http://media.www.reflector-online.com/media/storage/paper938/news/2002/10/29/Opinion/Halloween.Fall.Festival.Share.Similar.Methods-2536493.shtml

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://dragonflyradio.blogspot.com/2007/10/fall-festival-instead-of-halloween-huh.html' title='Fall Festival Instead of Halloween? ALL visitors .... READ THIS:

Due to the upcoming Earth Shift, there is an event that has recently started that, if you are unaware of it, may cause you mental distress ... even Madness.

Our inner Earth's plates are grating, creating a vibration that is now opening, or thinning, various "veils". All will be experiencing mental/body "shifts" due to this.

The veils will get thinner and much more frequent as time goes on. These veils will reveal phenomena, such as visually seeing Angels, Demonic Beings, various Inner Land Beings, more UFO sightings, etc.

Parallel Time Shifts will take place as well. We are made of the Earth, and are thus attuned to it. What has already started, and will get stronger, is as natural as breathing.

By BEING AWARE that these things are before you, you will not be as anxious. Well, as cool as the new nickname sounds, the programming and information declines. Perhaps Nat Geo had to do something to make up for their incompentance. What was once respected, including the channel and magazines themselves, and now the solid things of this world are going into shock over this outright upheaval of what we have known and were re-learning in a sense. I've seen the mockumentary on Roswell, but this one surpasses it.

This was about "Faith Healing", or was supposed to be. Fair was not an option for Nat Geo. In the end, and I watched it twice to make sure I wasn't misunderstanding the general statement of the program, the one message from a minister and scientists that work in this minister's organization was this:

"If someone tells you faith can heal you, run from them. They have taken what's Holy and Sacred to God and degraded it with the flesh."

That was the minister's own words. He was speaking of faith in general, not some of the false practitioners that he used to impose his philosophy. All things that claim faith could do "medical miracles". Along with his scientist friend, the minister and other doctors debunked any kind of reality in any form of miracle that was beyond "convetional medicine"s capabilities. Miracles simply were false as is the faith they are based upon.

I have one question: WHAT DOES THIS GUY PREACH TO HIS CONGREGATION ON SUNDAYS AND WEDNESDAYS?!

Even the Cancer Society and Cancer healing centers will tell you that faith, laughter, and a positive attitude is imperiative to healing and survival. I say to this minister, ask any cancer sruvivor and they will tell him the same thing.

THIS SHOW MADE ANOTHER DEGRADING NAME FOR THE PARANORMAL INVESTIGATION FIELD ALSO!

I am ashamed to call myself a paranormal investigator. A "paranormal investigator" was used in these "cases" to debunk any kind of faith validation! If this continues to come into this field, I will no longer be a paranormal investigator because it goes against, guess what!, my FAITH to debunk faith. It's imperiative to those who work in the field to have some sort of faith to rely on for protection and to help those we set out to help.

I can say right now, if it were not for my own faith, I would not be alive right now. So, Nat Geo, stick that up your ass and try to digest it.

The Dragonfly Extreme ~ OUT!

Our Next Show

What I'd planned for surprises for my "extra treats" shows for October, our most magical month, I now will have to use as our normal shows. Why? Good question. I've been very sick and now I think I have a blood clot in one or both of my legs. I cannot sit here at the desk long without threatening my circulation that is vital to keeping my leg(s). Two, the guests I had lined up have not confirmed at all. I can't even contact one of them. I did a replacement and the replacement has not confirmed and I've reached my deadline to "book" the recording date and time. So, the next show will be up Monday, as scheduled, but it is supposed to be an "extra" that was to be published LAST Monday as a treat for you guys! Hey, at least the treats aren't lost! As for the interview show, it's too late to plan it because of my health issues right now. So, I'm moving past these two and going to my next guest on the list planned for my interview for the Halloween show as scheduled and perhaps I can get up the second "treat" show also! Here's hoping!

And please, don't scream prematurely!

Peace!
The Dragonfly Extreme ~ OUT!

Why Can't We Be Ourselves?

"GRANDFATHER'S PRAYER FOR TODAY.

'Help me my Creator to accept who I am and not be tempted to think I can besomeone else."

~ from "DesertWind" desertwind1125@hotmail.com

Why can't we just be OURSELVES? Lately I've noticed that more and more people are comparing themselves to others rather than focusing on what's unique about them. We are all individuals, lovely and unique in our own ways, thus is why we are individuals. We are not copies of someone else. We are not, though it may seem to be a cool possibility, to be characters in a novel, either. I watched a great episode of "Charmed" today and it was about a long ago student there at the magick school who wrote a book and got his brother involved. They created this book to live out the story, IN THE BOOK! It went terribly wrong, the characters turned on their creators and killed one of the students that created him! The brother was stuck in the story for 20 years because the only way out was for the story to end! This made me think and it also compares to some pretty deep thoughts I've had about those around me both online and in my life outside of the Internet.

Some of the people I know are openly saying that, in essence, they are these (or so much like them they *could* be) famous people in whatever field they are in. The latest one is in the paranormal field and who they compare themselves to and say they could be this person and that only this famous person could relate to what they've seen and experienced, I'll also keep to myself. However, these statements bothered me so much I've thought a lot about them and decided to speak out. The person that is comparitave in question only has two years more experience than me in this field, however, they know nothing at all of my own experiences and won't for a reason. My point is this. I've never, ever felt the need of comparison to another nor will I because I'm happy with who I am, not who I could be or have similar experiences as. I was taught this growing up and it's a huge part of the reality of becoming an adult. I'm a almost 32 year old paranormal investigator that has 10 + years experience in the field and personal experience that some probably would not believe if they heard all of it. There is a "but" to this statment and that is but I never thought to compare my own stuff with that of others unless I was actively talking to someone and the subject came up. I do identify with others but I do so in an empathetic manner, not in comparison or trying to be someone I'm NOT.

There can only be ONE of each of us, no matter how many experiences we have, talents we possess, idea we have and make come to fruitation. This is one of the problems I've came across with my show also, but the "help" is just as bad as the attacker! I've written already about my feelings about the accusations of my "copying" someone else's show, which I did not. I didn't even know who was on that show as I've only had time to listen to it twice. Fact is everyone screams "copy" at others but then they turn around and compare themselves to another saying they can be that person with all that fame (which they gained from hard work and experience, what they personally done to impact the general public one by one!) or are so similar to that person that they are the alternative to this person.

On a general level, at some point, either in our personal lives as in comparing yourself to a fictional character or celebrity (which there is nothing wrong with) in identifying traits, experiences, feelings or situations in that person or character's lives or story, or in our lives in the public eye we all compare ourselves to others and we may unintentionally "copy" something from another source. Surely only a fool would outright copy someone else in a position that is in the public eye or stance and go on to make this copy violation public. I do know that this happens almost daily, however, my point is do not share your valueables with fools because that is what they are. It is an outright fool that would steal from other's heads (whether ideas or something they created) as it is a fool to threaten someone with a "smite". Will it work? If it does, not for long!

This has nothing to do with identification or empathy as spoken of above and quite frankly it pisses me off and rightly so. However the best way to deal with them is ignoring them since this ploy, whether it is a copy-cat or an accuser (as in my case), because the whole thing has a single goal: attention!

I've always did my own thing and if that happens to be something in the vacinity of idenity of something or someone else, well, there's a lot of "like" things in this world. Someone else I do not wish to be, want to be or have any intention of making myself (or my show) like these idiots! I will express my own unique personality in any manner I choose, even if it seems like something that's already been done. I have no need for more creativity. If I lacked that I couldn't have done all I have done in my life completely alone, so I suggest that you look only at yourself. You know the speck in your neighbor's eye and plank in yours thing, to borrow the words of one Most Famous!

Only two words to the wise (or sentences) here:

The only way to be "cool" is to be yourself, because this takes the MOST courage.

and

I'd truly rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I am NOT!

In closing, I help who I can on a local level and who I can online by teaching and being a friend. I'd sure hate to give up my own work to claim someone else's! This is why I placed the quote I did at the top of this post. It is sooo what I'm trying to say and been planning to say all week! I found it in a Daily Digest I get from a Yahoo! group I'm a member of. I do not claim it as my own!

Peace!

Dragonfly Extreme ~ OUT!

When Faith Runs Dry

I've been struggling lately and wondering why anything isn't working anymore. I've been left with only one question, what happened to my faith? Little by little, day by day I've noticed it slipping away, like a bird in slow flight, and that makes me want to cry. Once so vibrant and strong. It could hold up a wall of a world that fell apart around me but now I feel alone, yet I know I'm not. It's like awakening again. The night before the dawn. Little things are coming to me and shedding light but the struggle inside continues. Even those whom others come to for help with the very same things as this have their moments of lacking and doubt, yet they go on. I am asking myself what if someone else comes to me in need and find me sitting on my bottom doing nothing even for myself. I know I must stand. The silence has been broken and I know to heed that call. It's a cry, like that of a raven, which cannot be ignored. It goes beyond self, beyond the hurts and doubts in my head. It goes beyond the trials and storms of life. I must move, but I sit yet another moment and contemplate that movement before I do. Hesitation only worsens the things that are trying to turn to good. So, in this I must make this void I've been allowing myself to keep fill with something new and heal. Perhaps I'm afraid of the healing, the kind that comes from the inside. Perhaps I fear that if it is healed and my faith restored, I'll take another blow. But so help me, with the God above me and the Goddess below, I will stand. I will once again realize and protect all that is sacred like a child reborn and then coming into adulthood. It is the child who fears and likes the masks. I must take them off, this masquerade of my insecurity, and be who I'm intended to be without fear, for this is my only enemy. As I realize again, "And it harm none" means not harming yourself either. And allowing this void to continue is harming myself.

I don't have to stand up with a smile, though immediately I will because renewal does this naturally. I met another kindred sould today and I see what's in this dreary fog through the eyes of another akin to me. Last night I paryed for light and received it. Now I accept it with honor and graditude. In the end all things work out as they should be.

Paranormal Meltdown Planned For HALLOWEEN!

People have beein inquiring what I have planned for Halloween. After all, I have my own paranormal investigation group and teach in the field. I also have created, promoted, produced, and hosted my own Paranormal Radio Show. So I MUST have SOME kind on plans, right? The answer is YES, but keeping with the real me, it may surprise you! I plan to get a toothache from eating all the treats I can with a few tricks up my sleeve or, more aptly put, in my head. What do I plan to do? Nothing at all! I'm going to sit on my couch and eat candy while watching a movie that is NOT real and hopefully get a few screams that way. Enough is enough. It's time for a day or two off for me! One can only do so much, right? Or SEE so much without needing a break! PARANORMAL MELTDOWN planned for Halloween! That's right, I'm in a meltdown and not even a rocket scientist can stop this! There's no hope for me as I sink futher and futher into a sugar high and a thrill ride from my TV set! All year long I look for real goblins and spooks and other things that go bump in the night to try to help the terrified people that come to me. So while all the made-up ones are roaming the streets this Oct. 31, 2007 I'll be in the safety of my own home ignoring any and all real paranromal activity while I watch a hopefully scary movie and actually enjoy the fright! Once a year, I want to be scared and not have anything to worry about WHILE screaming my head off! The only thing I'm going to investigate is my old DVD collection, perhaps my Nightmare On Elm Street full set! And a good murder mystery or two on the side. Add candy and other treats to this witches' brew and I'm in for a relaxing, chillingly fun night with my husband. What more could a girl ask for, 'eh?

No, I'm not doing the Waverly Hills thing, or wherever it is! No, not me mister! (or Madam!) However, I do have some surprises for my friends and listeners of Dragonfly Radio! That's right. This Dragonfly Extreme has went to extreme measures to make this whole month pleasureable for all you ghouls and geeks, and just plain weird. Halloween treats for everyone, that's right! No matter what planet you hail from or what life form you are, vampire, alien, sheek, Harry Potter, pirate, or just a plain scary human (perhaps the most dangerous of this list) you'll get a kick out of my special shows! You read that right, bonsues for you guys! All dedicated to my wonderful friends who made this all possible!

Let's celebrate early this year and let it last! This was actually on my french fries that I got from Hardies with a 2/3 pound #7! Fatter, salty fries. It made my day. Had a very bad day at the dentist and well, the #7 hit the spot! Best fries I ever ate. Perhaps it connected with my mind way too well! Who knows but hey, score three for Hardies in my book now! I read this out loud and hubby, driving, yelled "WHAT?!" It was a great laugh. Remember laughter is often the best medicine! The magic words are in "drive-through" language and they go something like this, "Number 7, with large ..." I asked hubby where he learned drive-through language which I didn't know existed. He said on the streets! Ah, well, I guess I'll need to get out more often to learn this new language. Impressive indeed! Now I know my hubby is multilingual!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://dragonflyradio.blogspot.com/2007/09/donts-blush-were-showing-some-skin.html' title='"Dont's blush ... This is America's sport, the real deal. No wonder it's your dream event. But every year as you tune in with your seven-layer dip and room full of friends, don't you really wish you were somewhere else? Like on the 50-yard line three rows back from the field. Ahh, football. The hot dogs, the hot chocolate, the marauding fans who are so fanatic they'll brave greasy face paint and bare bellies on national television to prove their team allegiance. What you wouldn't give to be there in person—maybe even sporting some paint of your own. Or at least a Styrofoam finger to wave at the other team when they fumble or fail to rush the final two yards for a touchdown. You can't be timid at the Super Bowl. This is a let-your-hair-down, shake-it-around, and holler kind of crowd. You'll never find a better cross-section of people than in these stands. So keep your people-watching eyes on, pack your seat cushion, and your shades. Who cares who's playing? This January's game is in sunny San Diego, which makes this the Bowl game you don't want to miss in person.

What's Your Dream Event?

Brought to you by Tickle

X-TRA, X-TRA Read All About the ..... I'm not making sense nor will I so get used to that. Sex, and especially orgasam, is one of the most life-affirming, health conscious acts you can allow yourself to indulge in! In many places the word and act itself is found unmentionable or taboo. In reality the taboo is the lack of open discussion on the real issues that most of us do not want to face because of popular ideas about those who openly express their sexuality and love for sex. To free yourself to do this enables you to enjoy health benifits that people are frantically searching for!

Some examples are: Sex can reduce the risk of prostate cancer in men. Also in men, those who have sex more often, and even better if it is combined with love which decreases lonliness, have lowered their risk of heart attacks and heart disease (dis-ease ~ ironic spelling?) by 50%! Lonliness, a broken heart and all the other things we can name associated with these things can increase the risk of heart related illness by half. Take these risks and throw them out the window if you have a good sex life and the more of it you have, the less likely you are to have any of the negative dis-eases described above.

Sex is an aerobic workout. The more vigerous it is, the more benifits. The better the orgasam is, the more you add to the workout and the more likely you are to drift off into an luxerious sleep afterward. In women, it reduces the risk of endrometriosis which is common among women and can lead to sterility and a lot of pain among other things. The spasams of the uterus during sex and especially orgasam can help the uterus let go of some of the its lining that builds up and grows elsewhere, like on the oaveries, which causes this condition. Sex during mensturation also decreases the risk of this happening by helping the uterus release potentially harmful tissues. Orgasam is most powerful at aiding with this.

Also, the tension build up during sex to orgasam is one of the best tension relievers available to us. Whether masturbating or with a partner the tension-release cycle can ease the burdens of any stressful day or situation. Sometimes we get all tensesd up, our muscles contract without a way of releasing all that tension and it literally puts us in pain. Stress is also the number one killer in America! When we come home and have the possibility of sex awaiting us, then the cycles of sexual activity from tension build-up to orgasam can quickly dispose of all those stress effects through this cycle.

Sex and the pleasures that go with it can re-balance the chemicals in your brain to a normal state, thus helping with stabilizing our thoughts, emotions, calming fears, giving a sense of security and aiding in helping depression. The release an orgasam offers makes the body release certian chemical reactions that aid in mental well being. These chemicals also include Oxytocin wich is one of the most powerful pain relievers available to us and without the negative side effects that most prescription and over-the-counter pain relievers offer! By having sex you can be pain free!

Also another important part of the body that benifits greatly from sex is the skin. During the excitement and release, the blood rushes up to the surface, which many experts believe that performs a cleansing process that can have anit-aging effects. The sweat from sexual excitement and release will also cleanse your pores of dirt, harmful bacteria and fungi overgrowth, and reduce skin problems in general.

In women the risk of certian types of cancer is reduced through sexual activity, especially if pregnancy results, and the already mentioned reduced risk of enometriosis. It also relieves frustration and helps the people feel more harmonious which helps the relationship in general in addition to the total relaxation it can bring. You will feel closer to you partner and therefore more sensitive to their feelings and needs. Love surges within you when it is present in the relationship and the sexual act is completed. This is a very vital part of every person that needs love, too. If it is openly, freely loved by each partner, then the love between the two people can be felt more easily breaking down any emotional blocks or barriers that may exist from the tensions of relationships in general. Overall you both will have a sense of well being after sex.

"Nothing makes one grow old as fast as hardening of the heart." ~ Author Unknown

This does NOT refer to clogged arteries! It refers to something that happens to a lot of us as we grow older and loose faith in life's goodness. In both men and women, sex plays a vital role in helping keep this sense of goodness in life alive. It helps keep the heart feeling youthful and yes, in addition to this, it can reduce the risk of clogged arteries! Research shows that if you're an optimistic person and have a positive state of mind that you will live a longer life! So, now we add longitivity to the list.

Sex also balances the immune system, improves cognition, premotes bone growth, maintains and repairs tissues and tissue damage, strengthen the entire urogenital tract aiding greatly in childbirth and preventing the onset of incontinence later on in life. It also increases oxygen levels to vital organs and enhances energy levels. The more orgasams you have and the more you exercise these parts of your body, the more sensitive the genitals become and the more powerful your orgasams become. Besides boosting bone growth, sex boosts testosterone and estrogen levels in both men and women, and also fortifies muscles. The increase in estrogen keeps women's vaginal tissues more supple, makes her breasts softer, effects the way a women smells and thus increasing the natural smell enhancement that increases the drive for the partner to want to taste, touch, and be with her more. Testosterone is what makes a woman want to be penetrated.

According to one doctor, an open, joyful heart when love is added to sex is the ingrediants for more ecstatic sex. If you are in an intimate relationship on physical, emotional levels and more, with someone you care for and they care for you in return, then you are five times less likely to die a premature death and five times less likely at risk for disease of all causes. Caressing, hugging, stroking, touching all cause a chemical reaction in the body for the overall good. This is also seen in a study done on mortality rates of infants in nurseries. The ones who were touched less often by the caregiver had a higher mortality rate. In those who had hired a "grandmother" to stroke and fondle the infant, the mortality rate decreased greatly. Premature babies who received a massage three times a day over a ten day period gained 47% more weight than those premature infants who did not.

Even if your sexual organs are desensitized, take heart! The art of erotic massage can bring you or your partner to a state of a whole body ecstatic orgasmic state! Kissing, foldeling, touching your partner in the erotic zones can bring about physical orgasams that will blow your mind. I can attest to this fact because I have had powerful orgasams by just kissing my partner! Erotic massage is also a great way to help your partner have multiple whole body orgasams and multiple orgasams during the actual sex act if added to foreplay! YES! On July 11, 2007 Congress passed the HR 2900 which gives the FDA power over our dietary supplements. Now health CHOICE becomes a product of the rich because of the implications of this law. Now the FDA can regulate everything, including price, of all dietary supplements under the cover of "protection". Where have I heard that before? It is predicted according to what this 800 page section of the HR 2900 dealing with dietary supplements, including vitamins(!), that within the next three to five years the average citizen will not be able to afford any supplement and most companies that produce these will have to go out of business because of the costs placed on them and restrictions due to FDA interference. Do I need the psyhological therapy that is such a "hot" topic now days? No, I think that if I had taken the time to look inside myself a week or two ago, I may have gotten my goals accomplished by now. A simple look into a website was so hard? Oh, but I'm looking for nothing when I don't have the money for what I need! But these services were supposed to be for free, right? Didn't you read this the last time you looked at the site?, I would as myself. But I need to do so much more FIRST. But ... but ... but. There's too many "buts" in my life and not enough faces! The sad part of it is these things I've come to call "but-holes" from the lack of accomplishments I could have achieved, yet have not, are really fear! So now we have a new term for one of the worst dangers in our daily lives (FEAR!): "But-Holes"!

Voids now plague me where tasks could have been done. I may have been on the air by now, actually with the show! That's why fear is "But-Holes". I didn't have others standing around bossing me! I'm my own boss on this! Who could I look to for the "But-Holes"? ME!

Fear of failure, rejection, even things that you stand against and will not participate in such as competition can slip into the proverbial cauldron of "why not's" something shouldn't be done right away! That's when I realized that the ONLY way to STOP the "But-Holes" in my life was to stop myself in inaction and ask, "What am I afraid of?". Sure you can lie to yourself and sometimes you believe it but on a really deep down level, you always know the true answer. So, can we actually say that we can truly lie to ourselves?

I've never been a public personality, not on purpose. I'm surely not famous. I don't really know any famous people and that has never been a goal of mine or bothered me. I've made a point to be happy with who I am just the way I am and had quite a bit of success. So, what's the real problem? "Show" nerves? Lack of knowledge? Hardly for the latter! Nerveous is true but is that really keeping me from doing things that could have already been done? NO! I had to scream it!

Am I afraid of failure? YES! This means I need to sit back and re-define what true success is. If I had a thousand listeners and a thousand guests and no "content" or stuff I didn't like or enjoy, was supported by some network or live radio, would I determine myself a success? NO! If not that, then what would be a success? If I accomplished something that I loved and enjoy while reaching the goal I set out to reach! BAM! I have my answer. So, in light of the fact I already have what I want, which is very hard for some people to accept about themselves in itself, why am I not considering myself a success already by my own definition? Since I cannot answer why not, I think the very question answers the "WHY YES?"!

For all you procrastanors out there, here's a word of advice. You'll never get anything done until you address what is inside of you that your running from! Dragonfly Radio is no longer set back on the time-line! We will air on schedule!

End of personal rant!

Your Hostess,
The Dragonfly Extreme!

The Ghost of the Flying Dutchman

Did you know that the "Flying Dutchman" was not a Disney idea? It's true. There is a real legend of The Flying Dutchman that has been considered a warning to sailors when danger is ahead. It is said to be seen from a certain distance along with a ghostly light. It's eternal damnation to forever be at sea comes from a true story.

Hendrick Vanderdecken's heart belonged to the sea. His pride was The Flying Dutchman. He took his crew and The Flying Dutchman out on a long, dangerous voyage that would lead to a one way ticket to eternity. The Flying Dutchman set out from Amsterdam to sail to port in East India. They had to pass through The Cape of Good Hope in southern Africa which was an important passage for all the ships on their way to India. This region had been known as the Cape of Storms and named so by Bartholomew Dias. Rounding the Cape in a severe storm, the Flying Dutchman began to sink. Vanderdecken ignored dangers and would not give up although his terrified crewmen wanted to turn back to safer waters. He swore he would accomplish his voyage even if it took him until doomsday ... and it did. The Flying Dutchman and its crew were doomed to sail the waters for eternity. Vanderdecken and his crew were never again seen on land.

Sailors fear this terrible apparition because they believe it fortells of doom. The ones who do not heed the warnings of the Dutchman meet their own doom. England's future King Gegorge V (186 - 1936) reported in his journal that he saw the Flying Dutchman off the port bow at 4 AM. His words were these:

"A strange red light as of a phantom ship all aglow, in the midst of which light the mast, spars and sails of a brig 200 yards distant stood out in strong relief .... on arriving there, no vestige nor any sign whatever of a material ship was to be seen either near or right away to the horizon, the night being clear and the sea calm. Thirteen persons altogether saw her."

Doctors Rewarded $75,000 to Drink Vaccine Additives

Docotrs were offered an $75,000 reward to drink the additives that are in vaccines that are mandatory for 6 year olds and none of them have cashed in on it! Believe it or not, not all things involving health are complicated. In fact, there are many things you can do yourself that will save you time and money and keep you out of the doctor's office. There are a lot of things people usually don't know. It seems our lives are busy. We don't have much time to read or do what we would like to do or even need to do in this case. With the Internet there is a wealth of information of how we can become more health conscious.

For instance, did you know that depression, even mild depression, can cause physical pain? Did you know stress and infections related to hospital stays kill more individually than accidents each year? Did you know that just last week from Atlanta, Georgia it was reported that there was a antibiotic resistant staph infection that an estimated 300,000 people are walking around with and don't even know it? Hospitals are saying that this killer infection often times comes INTO the hospital WITH the patient and can be spread through touching a doorknob and such? Also did you know that laughter can help heal CANCER and other ailments and diseases?!

There are many ways to get health conscious without spending too much time scowering the net, such as subscribing to some great advice newsletters. One I, personally, stand behind is Dr. Mercola. He gives the most interesting facts about other things, too. Here are some articles that I found quite interesting from him:

How To Get Rid Of A Migraine

Man With Green Blood Shocks Surgeons

GMO Foods

When Doctors Strike, Fewer People Die

Animation by Dr. Mercola ~ Town of Allopath

Three Girls Died, Others Hospitalized, After HPV Vaccine

Take Control Of Your Health

Online Games!

There is a fine line between good and BAD online games! I love gaming but I am a child of the 80s who remembers when the very first video game came into the world! Now I love PS2 and find many online games lacking. So, in light of this I've went on a game quest to find the BEST online games there is! The new ones will be posted as "Game Quest #" as the Title, so be sure to look for more in the future. My #1 favorite online games site it NeoPets! Here is my NeoPet. Click her to check out the site and create an account for yourself. No matter your age, you won't regret it!

The Pogo Online Game Community is another great place to fine games that are very entertaining!

Yet another great game I found at Free Games Jungle! To get to it from the main site, look to the left and click "Old Games". I really got hooked on Mahjong! You can find it on the OldSchool Games page that I just linked you to. Now you younger generation that have no clue what the real gaming was like when games were more than graphics and the real 80s and 90s eras were today and not past. My first computer game was Alien Invasion and it was on a Texas Instruments Computer, which they don't make anymore! How many of my readers have actually seen a new one and used one before??!! The version of the game on this website is close to the original version that I had back in the 80s on my high-powered machine! The graphics weren't that great but gameplay was and that is really all that matters. The first video game I played was Pac-Man at Skateland USA. I learned to skate and save my quarters for the arcade each week. When I ran out, daddy knew to have more! In the words of the genius Prince, "Dig if you will the picture ...." You're like a professional ice skater in the middle of the ring, skating as if you're the only one there. The smell of the best pizza to ever cross your lips fills the ring with you but the wind of your spin takes that all away and all that is left are huge speakers all around the building that rock the floor with ElDebarge screaming "The Rhythm of the Night" in surround sound you can't forget. This is your dream bedroom! Your own palace! And yes, ElDebarge I sure feel the beat! On the breaks from spinning until you loose your breath you chunk down all the pizza you can get away with, the true meal fit for the king/queen of the palace and head straight for the arcade to feed the largest addiction. Smells of pizza and lingering taste so sweet, dizziness is your climax, the neverending sound of quarters clinking into the machine slots for games and a beat that rocks your body until your forced out of the building by your parents who have some sort of "tired" mechanism in them that you just can't quite figure out yet. Friends, add the largest thrill of the yearly County Fair and this is your dream world! This is true to life 80s lifestyle! Only we didn't call it a "lifestyle", we simply called it Heaven! Oh, and please don't leave out your own TV with MTV! Can you feel it yet? I'm still vibrating from those days.

What? This post was about free online games, you say? Oh! Yes, well try these out. Let me know what you think. Stop by CandyStand, also. If you have good games, then please, let me know!

Another Internet Radio Show?

Not yet. It's just an idea. I have been listening to "pod casts" and Internet Radio in general and in all, it's not such a bad idea. I enjoy the music stations such as "Adult Alternative", "Hair Metal", and some of the XM Stations. However there is one field I enjoy and Internet Radio in that field is found lacking: The Paranormal Talk Shows. Sure there are a few good ones such at Nightwatch, Coast To Coast AM, Ghostly Talk, and many other great shows.

Nightwatch and Ghostly Talk are the first two I listened to and twenty minutes of the show only seemed like three minutes. ThothWeb also has a great show line up. I am hard to please when it comes to radio. When I heard things on the newer shows that shouldn't have been there and degraded the image of the field I love, then I knew something had to change and the veterans of the field openly agree. So, now I'm toying with the idea of doing just that: Bringing in a brand new style of change to Paranormal Talk Shows. Welcome to Dragonfly Radio! I am your hostess, The Dragonfly!

Here we will explore many things and realms from the everyday stuff to the extreme. I'm a Dragonfly Extreme and I will shortly introduce you to my world! Expect nothing, get everything.
